THE FOG – Weeds Among the Wheat
What are the weeds among the wheat? I would say it is ignorance. The lack of gnosis. If gnosis is awareness of a higher divine self within, then what are the movements of the soul which attract our lower intellect to search for this universal truth? How do we unlock the sealed doors of the mind which prevent individuals from venturing into the unknown depths of their psyche? Or even more difficultly, the collective psyche of the world soul? Why does this psychological blocking exist? Why does this denial of our basic humanity exist? You only have to look at the myths of the ancient Greeks to see how important these questions have been to the evolution of the human race. Ignorance has become a form of unconsciousness which is epidemic.
Much has been written on these subjects for hundreds of years. The question has survived numerous counsels, psychological conferences, journals and theological treatises. Many have tried to shed light on these deep questions. Regardless of the intentions humanity has done a superb job of suppressing gnosis for centuries. As a result many alternatives have been born to entice the soul. These alternatives come to us through numerous thought experiments know as “Ism’s”. Gnosticism itself is also just another “Ism” and must not be blindly followed. It must be questioned so the evidence of its merit may be discovered through direct personal experience. Here are a few other “Ism’s” that also need to be questioned and discerned:
And there are many, many, more. All of these Ism’s are phantoms which do not possess a soul or have the ability to receive the gift of Gnosis or Christ consciousness. As humanity becomes more intoxicated with ignorance many bad doctrines have surfaced. One bad idea worth mentioning is the doctrine of original sin. I mention this doctrine specifically because in our current global state of affairs this is the teaching which spiritually immature people seem most willing to kill or die for. This is the Ism of absolutism. If you are of a different tribe than mine then I must convert you because only we hold the truth. And if you cannot be converted than you must be isolated, shunned or even killed. This of course is all done in the cause of a greater good by God’s anointed self-proclaimed prophets who carry out his marching orders here on earth.
As ignorance grows and becomes more cunning we can all become infected with ever deepening darkness within our individual and collective soul. The shadow mind is a small fearful tyrant. It is the mind of absolutism fired by ignorance. It is a drug which our psyches have become addicted to. Lost in distraction and seduction to this drug humanity is failing to hear the call of Gnosis.
When Jesus slept through the storm at sea he did so because he had Christ consciousness. He knew himself and his mission. He had faith in the One who sent him and had confidence which is a fruit of Gnosis. When Jesus walked on the waves during the storm he did so to give his disciples this same confidence. Peter received it briefly but as he was opened to the vision of his larger and deepest mind he became fearful and slipped under the waves. The call of Gnosis is to wakefulness. We must wake up to the gnosis of courage and look deep within. Let us all pray that we hear the call before it is too late. Let us all experience first hand the binding compassion and love of Gnosis.
