THE FOG – The Keys of Stewardship
The natural world is in constant fluidity. It is always growing and evolving. Therefore as humans we too must constantly be growing and evolving. However for humans who possess an ego we must make a conscious decision to humble ourselves. We must learn to listen. But who shall we listen to? Who holds the keys to the kingdom? Is it a cleric? Is it a political leader? Or maybe it is a scientist? I suggest it is none of these. In fact it is not a person or even a group of people. For the time of humans seems to be diminishing before our eyes. As a “people” we may have been given the responsibilities of carrying the keys to the kingdom but it was not for our own personal benefit. As a species we have abused the trust of creation.
“Ask the beasts and they will teach you, and the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will teach you, and the fish of the sea will explain to you.”
Job 12: 7-9
The great myth tells us that people were the last to be born of Mother Earth. This means that all which came before us are our Elders. We can say that these Elders formed a sort of counsel. A counsel based on a collective natural wisdom. This natural wisdom entrusted humans with the keys to the kingdom. We were given stewardship or management of the Earth. But human history has provided the evidence that humanity was not ready to take this responsibility to heart.
We have constantly put ourselves first and made every other life form a secondary concern. As humans we have permitted human guides and gurus to take advantage of every form of life on the planet. Therefore as a collective we are implicate in contributing to the global climate catastrophe which has now been laid at our feet. There is no longer any question that global climate change is happening and that human activity is largely responsible.
Therefore what are the Elders now going to do? They have given us many opportunities to mature, and some of us have. But are we too few, too late? Are the few strong enough to make any difference at this last hour? Has greed so possessed the soul of humanity that we have lost the moral ability to act in any meaningful way? After all, if we are so willing to kill one another over greed why would we worry about future generations, let alone the Elders who gave us the power of stewardship in the first place?
The patience of our Elders is unlimited. However they also possess the unlimited ability to relieve us of the keys to the kingdom so we can learn just how irresponsible we have been coexisting with Mother Earth. It seems for now we still have some part to play in determining our place in the ecosystem of planet Earth. But time is running out and it seems the Elders are giving us one last chance to mend the ignorance of our ways. If we do not mend our ways, may Mother Earth have mercy on the human race!
Our holy books tell us that everything was created for us and that we are God’s greatest priority. Is this really true or is this just another example of humanities inflated ego? Should we really believe that Mother Earth would actually let herself and all other forms of life die just so humans can continue to follow their path of freewill and unbridled greed? Can we really believe everything within the cosmos has been specially orchestrated just for us? Is it realistic to follow the dogma which dictates freewill will allow us to blow up the planet and that all other forms of life must acquiesce?
“Heaven moves constantly. Thus the superior person strengthens himself without pause.”
I Ching
What kind of grandiose megalomania is this? After millennia of self-directed entitlement the climate change catastrophe is now the final wakeup call of a loving universe. For the Creator it is not a matter of who is the most important. It is a matter of harmony. This is why when anything in nature is out of harmony the Creator will lovingly direct them back on course. If the offer is accepted then they will find their place on the Ark. If they refuse to embrace harmony then the Ark will sail without them. There is a time for everything, a time for dinosaurs, and a time for humans. Everything will return to the source of the All at its appointed time. However, to do so prematurely will be the biggest mistake the human condition will ever foolishly endure.
Ecclesiastes
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals. The same fate awaits them both. As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath. Humans have no advantage over animals. All go to the same place.
As always there is one central thematic expression in every blog I write. This theme is to wake up to Gnosis. There is nothing more important for humanity to experience and express as the saving grace of Gnosis. There is nothing more vital for the continued existence of humans on planet Earth than the awakening of the collective soul of Homo Spiritus through Gnosis. There are many important things that need to be done. But none of it will matter if we are the last generation of humans.
